Diana King on promotional tour

JAKARTA (JP): Singer Diana King is scheduled to arrive here Tuesday for a three-day promotional tour for her second album, Think Like A Girl.

The 25-year-old singer of Shy Guy and I Say A Little Prayer fame will perform at Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta on Thursday, singing selections from her albums.

These will include I Say A Little Prayer, Think Like A Girl, L-L-Lies and Do You Really Want To Hurt Me.

Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta's public relations manager, Teges Prita Soraya, said that Diana will arrive Tuesday night from Singapore and depart Friday for a four-day tour in Malaysia before leaving for the U.S.

"Diana is being sponsored by recording company Sony Music. It has spent close to Rp 30 million to bring her down here," Teges said.

With space to accommodate 250 people seated and at least 800 standing, Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta expects about 600 to turn up for the show.

Diana's promotional tour began in Japan on April 23, followed by Hong Kong, India and Singapore. It is scheduled to end in the U.S. on May. 13.

Her songs have been featured on a few soundtracks, including Bad Boys, Cool Runnings and First Wives Club.

Diana, who has 14 siblings, was born in Spanish Town, St. Catherine's Parish, Jamaica, South America. She ran away from home at 13, following objections from her parents for singing gospel music. (ylt)
