Dharmala's profits up

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly-listed PT Dharmala Sakti Sejahtera yesterday reported consolidated net profits of Rp 67.5 billion (US$30 million) for last year, a 10 percent increase over the previous year.

The company's president, Suyanto Gondokusumo, said in a statement issued following the company's annual and extraordinary shareholder meetings yesterday that the company projected a 15 percent increase in net profits this year.

Suyanto noted that the company's multifinance division PT BBL Dharmala Finance contributed Rp 24.8 billion, 41 percent or the largest portion to last year's profits, followed by its banking division Bank Dharmala -- 30 percent or Rp 15.5 billion.

Its insurance division, represented by PT Asuransi Jiwa Dharmala Manulife, PT Dharmala Insurance and PT Maskapai Reasuransi Indonesia, contributed 22 percent to last year's profits, with each delivering Rp 17.8 billion, Rp 2 billion and Rp 2 billion respectively.

Dharmala Insurance is also a publicly-listed company.

Meanwhile, Dharmala Saksi Sejahtera's securities division PT Dharmala Securities, accounted for 6 percent of last year's profits, while its consulting division accounted for only 1 percent. (rid)
