Dharma Wanita awards scholarships

The Dharma Wanita women's organization of the Ministry of Social Services has granted scholarships to 184 students from the less privileged groups of the society. The program is part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the organization, the members of which consist of wives of civil servants and female employees of government agencies.

Mrs. Ign. Setiyoko, chairwoman of the celebration committee said at the ministry late last week that under the scheme each of the students will receive between Rp 90,000 and Rp 180,000 per semester.

She said that her organization has also sponsored free health check ups for poor families and held a seminar on heart disease and stroke. (tis)
