Deputy Attorney General dies
JAKARTA: Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes Haryadi B. Widyasa died early on Thursday morning at Pertamina Hospital after being hospitalized for a stroke.
Haryadi was rushed to the hospital when he lost consciousness while observing Friday prayer on Dec. 24 at the Attorney General's Office. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Born in 1945 in Tanjungkarang, Lampung, Haryadi graduated in 1972 from the School of Law at Bandung-based Padjadjaran University. The following year he became a prosecutor.
He once served as assistant head of intelligence at the Aceh Prosecutor's Office, and head of the Prosecutor's Office in Bandung and South Sumatra. He was appointed in 2003 as the deputy attorney general for general crimes.
He was buried later on Thursday at Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery in South Jakarta, following a service at Sasana Pradhana hall, the Attorney General's Office. -- JP
