Depok mayor installed
BOGOR (JP): Bogor Regent Eddie Yoso Martadipura installed yesterday his former assistant Badrul Kamal as the new Depok mayor, replacing Sofyan Safari Hamim.
Sofyan has been serving as a new secretary in the Majalengka administration in West Java for the past 18 months.
Eddie said the replacement of the mayor was aimed at refreshing and further developing Depok in a bid to enable it to improve its services to the public.
"I hope the new mayor can improve the administration's performance," he said at the installation ceremony.
He reminded the new mayor about difficult problems he may encounter because Depok borders with Jakarta.
"Jakarta's problems in social, economic and political affairs can easily affect the township. I hope the new mayor can anticipate such problems," he added.
Badrul, 52, is married to Yuslida, 46, and has three children: Erlian Verliana Yudha, Erlan Erlangga and Elva Adhyaksani Gumelar. (24/jun)
