Delta opens new plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Delta Djakarta, which produces Anker Beer,
Anker Stout, San Miguel, Carlsberg and Shanta Shandy, opened its
new factory and headquarters with an investment of US$68.2
million, in Bekasi, West Java, yesterday.

The company's president, Rubian Harahap, said the brewery
could make 90 million liters a year, 50 percent more than its
former plant in North Jakarta.

Rubian said the brewery started production last October.

PT Delta is 49 percent owned by San Miguel Malaysia (L)
Private Ltd, 30 percent by the Municipal Government of Jakarta
(30 percent) and 21 percent by the public. (13)
