Defense ministry to set up university
JAKARTA: The defense ministry is still preparing for the establishment of defense university, the National Defense Higher Learning Institute (STIHAN).
"STIHAN will net military cadets and civil servants working for the defense ministry, the Indonesian Military, National Police, and civil servants from other departments closely related to national defense," defense ministry Secretary General Vice Marshal Suprihadi was quoted by Antara as saying.
Suprihadi said STIHAN would offer three study programs -- Defense Strategy, Defense Management, and Defense Information Technology.
He did not say when the university will open, but indicated that the ministry was waiting for the backing of the National Education Department, military leadership, and existing higher learning institutions. --Antara
