Death toll in plane crash up

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The death toll in Saturday's plane crash rose to 18 yesterday when one of the four critically injured people died in hospital.

The latest to die, Ardiansyah, 45, was a worker at the gas factory the locally-built light aircraft crashed into on Saturday. He died from the burns he sustained all over his body.

The PT Dirgantara Air Service Cassa-100 aircraft with 17 people on board crashed on Saturday into a gas factory about three kilometers east of Banjarmasin's Syamsuddin Noor airport.

A factory worker and all but one of the people on board were killed in the disaster. A passenger and two workers are still in hospital. (01)
