Deakin University unveils essay winners

JAKARTA: Neda Tanaga and Wasana Adi Nugraha were announced on
Thursday as the winners of the student English essay competition
organized by Deakin University.

Neda of the University of Indonesia in Depok and Wasana of
Airlangga University in Surabaya won two-week academic English
courses at Deakin University's English Institute in Melbourne,
Australia.

Neda's winning essay was titled Is the obsolescence of war
just around the corner?, while Wasana's was titled A new dawn for
Indonesia.

A total of 212 college students between the ages of 18 and 21
participated in the competition. -- JP
