Dead on arrival

I am writing in reference to senora LLamas letter Is Europe dying? (June 30). I believe Europe needs new blood. But first they have to emulate the U.S.

In the U.S. a Bosnia refugee can get a job with Packard-Bell to produce a competitive computer. In Europe, they put the refugees in an airplane back to Bosnia. In Europe they call their foreign manpower "guest workers". They pay taxes but have no right to vote or decide how the money will be spent. In America, taxation without representation was the reason they went to war against the British.

In Europe they offer foreign workers menial jobs, while in America they have access to venture capital to start companies, make new products and kick butt. I have tracked the NASDAQ technology stocks and the companies' officers have names like Benhamou, Zadeh and Lam. The Vietnamese, Lebanese, Iranians and Indians in Europe, with a few honorable exceptions, are fighting over cow meat, tomatoes and fish quotas. Dead on arrival.
