Daughters used to win support

SEMARANG: Presidential candidates Megawati Soekarnoputri and Amien Rais have sent their daughters out on the campaign trail to drum up support in Central Java.

Amien sent his daughter Hanum Salsabila, 23, to meet with voters on Tuesday in the Sunan Kuning red-light district in Kalibanteng, Semarang.

Megawati's daughter Puan Maharani went to the Al Fadhlu Wal Hidayah Islamic boarding school in Kaliwungu district, Kendal regency, on Monday to speak with potential voters. -- JP
