* Known for having managed to reach the post of Supreme Court justice without sufficient experience in a managerial position in the high court.

* While she is known for her intellectual ability, Marianna also has a reputation for not finishing cases on time.

* Marianna made headlines in 2000 following the verdict on a land dispute involving a giant housing-complex developer in Jakarta. There were allegations that she took bribes from the property company, accusations that she has consistently denied.

Career: * Head of the religious court in Purwokerto, Central Java in 1976. * Rector of Muhammadiyah Teachers Training Institute (IKIP) in Purwokerto from 1976 to 1988 * Head of the Semarang Religious High Court overseeing Central Java and Yogyakarta from 1987 to 1991 * Head of the Palembang Religious High Court overseeing South Sumatra, Lampung and Bengkulu from 1992 to 1994 * Head of the Jakarta Religious High Court from 1994 to 1996 * Head of the Bandung Religious High Court overseeing West Java from 1996 to 1997. * Director of the religious court judiciary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs from 1997 to 2000 *Supreme Court justice 2000 until now

Record: * While he was undergoing the selection hearing for the Supreme Court post in 2000, Syamsuhadi said that he had been offered bribes on several occasions, but had never accepted them and that he was a loyal and faithful husband. * Several colleagues say that Syamsuhadi only masters religious affairs although he is also known as an intellectual. He is known for his modesty and has moderate managerial skills.
