Dangerous toll road

From Merdeka

Accidents on the Cikampek toll road involving buses, cars and trucks claim a considerable number of casualties every month.

These people paid toll fees only to die later.

Jasa Marga should do some research and find out what causes these fatal accidents. Is it because some are driving too fast or perhaps due to mechanical failures?

Inter-city bus accidents are often caused by human error, drivers falling asleep at the wheel, for example. Accidents could surely be reduced if inter-city buses from Java using the toll road were made to take breaks to prevent them from becoming sleepy.

Drivers of private cars should be reminded to maintain their vehicles. Are they in good shape and steady on the road? If necessary, toll road employees should remind drivers as they pass through the toll booths to make sure they are in sound condition.

We hope that the toll road is kept safe for everyday transportation and that it loses its reputation as a "killer road".
