Dane robbed by home guard
JAKARTA (JP): South Jakarta Police arrested yesterday a security guard at a Danish expatriate's Pondok Indah residence with his employer's belongings in his possession, an official said.
According to South Jakarta Police chief Lt. Col. Satrya Hari Prasetya, Iin was busted at his home at Jeruk Perut area with all of the loot he took from his employer's house on Jl. Duta Permai III/7 a day earlier.
Among the goods seized from his possession were a double cassette tape recorder, a CD player, a Swedish passport, 4,000 Thai baht, 200 Malaysian ringgit, 40 Singaporean dollars, 2,400 Belgium franc, 200 Swedish krona, 100 Danish krone, and Rp 500,000, Satrya said.
"All of the items belonged to his employer, Peter Hauggaard, aged 36," the officer said.
During interrogation, Iin admitted the offense, saying that he committed the crime by himself at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday when Hauggaard was out playing badminton.
"Hauggaard only learned about the burglary after he returned home at 9 p.m.," Satrya said. (edt)
