Dance school fully booked

SOLO, Central Java: The Indonesian School of Art (STSI) says it has received more requests to perform than it can handle -- with four art festivals this year and three next year already on the line.

The school's principle, Sri Hastanto, was quoted by the Antara news agency as saying that they have not decided yet on which festivals they would participate in.

He said STSI has been receiving invitations to perform over the past few years, both from foreign sponsors and from the Indonesian government.

Although they try hard to meet the requests -- aware that it is a means of cultural promotion -- Hastanto admitted that preparations for performances abroad were very time consuming and only a limited number of performers have the potential or are ready enough to participate, he said.(pwn)
