Czech stall attract locals

JAKARTA: The Embassy of the Czech Republic participated in the European Education and Cultural Exhibition held in Yogyakarta recently, the embassy said in Jakarta.

"Our Czech pavilion at the exhibition was visited by some 2,000 students, lecturers and members of the civil society. Many students are interested in studying at Czech educational institutions," Jiri Vobis, the embassy's counselor who was present at the exhibition, told The Jakarta Post.

The two-day exhibition was jointly organized by the European Commission Delegation to Indonesia and Gadja Mada University as part of Europe Month 2005.

Last week, the Czech Embassy also organized the Czech Week with several exhibitions, including the famous Bohemian Crystal and food festival at the Gran Melia Hotel in Jakarta. -- JP
