The Directorate General of Customs and Excise has revoked the licenses of 5,086 importers for violating customs regulations as of Aug. 3, an official said Tuesday.
“The majority of the importers have not been actually importing goods for the last 12 months, while the rest have violated other regulations,” Information and Customs Director Heri Kristiono told reporters.
There are 4,100 importers that have suspended their import of goods over the past year.
The remaining 986 were found to have breached other regulations, including 744 importers that had imported goods not specified on the documents and 72 importers whose licenses had expired. (naf)
