Curug market renovation halted
TANGERANG: Renovation work at Curug market has been halted by private developer PT Bangun Prima Sarana because the traders refused to pay the down payment for their kiosks.
"Since the renovation began in January, there's not much progress in the construction work," complained Subarda, a 45-year-old trader.
Another trader Sarifah, 50, said that they were only given 18 months to pay for the kiosks, each of which is priced at between Rp 50 million (US$5,780) and Rp 60 million.
Fire razed the market in late 2002. The Rp 19 billion renovation project is scheduled to be completed in January 2006. -- JP
