JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's 1996 Thomas and Uber Cuppers who are
students at Tarumanegara University in West Jakarta can finish
their education for free, the university's rector Agustinus
Kahono announced on Tuesday. They will also be given more time to
finish their studies, he added.

The cuppers in question are Barcelona Olympic gold medalists
pair Susi Susanti and Allan Budi Kusuma, 1991 All England
champion Ardy Bernadus Wiranata, junior women's singles Yuliani
Santoso, Meulawati, Lidya Djaelawidjaja and double specialist
Eliza.

The announcement was apparently made in conjunction with the
country's recent success in retaining both cups, the world's
badminton supremacy symbols, in Hong Kong last month. Indonesia's
men's team beat Denmark 5-0 and its women's team beat China 4-1
to claim both cups for the second time in a row. (arf)
