CSIS launches book on Ali Moertopo

JAKARTA: The Centre for Strategic and International Studies
(CSIS) launched on Wednesday a book on former information
minister the late Ali Moertopo, who died 20 years ago.

Entitled "Remembering Ali Moertopo", the book compiles
articles written by CSIS members Jusuf Wanandi, Indra J. Pilliang
and Ari A. Perdana, with an introduction by Harry Tjan Silalahi.

Ali played a pivotal role in sustaining the New Order, which
ruled the country following a coup attempt blamed on the
Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) in 1965. Ali also cofounded
CSIS.

Also in attendance at the launch was Golkar Party leader Akbar
Tandjung. -- Antara
