CSFB named best foreign bank
JAKARTA: Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) has been awarded the Asset Triple-A Country Awards for best foreign investment bank in Indonesia and Malaysia by banking and finance publication The Asset.
"CSFB won the distinction in Indonesia, given the bank's spread of activity during the past 12 months. CSFB has been involved in a range of deals ranging from IPOs (initial public offerings) to bonds, loans and M&A (mergers and acquisitions)," CSFB quoted the magazine as saying.
Deals handled by CSFB in 2004 include three bonds issues for Perusahaan Gas Negara, a high-yield bonds issue for cellular service provider Excelcomindo and a US$385 million syndicated loan for PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
"This award demonstrates CSFB's deep commitment to providing a full range of investment banking services to our clients," said Helman Sitohang, CSFB head of investment banking for Indonesia and Malaysia. -- JP
