Croatian delegation in NATO

Another article which made an equation between Croatia and Serbia appeared in your paper on Jan. 23, 1997. An article dealing with Slovenia (Slovenia emerges as new favorite to win NATO place) claimed that there is "a sharp contrast between Slovenia on one side and Croatia and Serbia on the other for the latter have not brought the military under civilian control and adopted constitutional reforms protecting democratic opposition".

As far as Croatia is concerned, this statement gives false information, which can easily be checked in our constitution, existing laws and relevant documents.

Additionally, let us also inform you that at this moment a Croatian delegation headed by Zarko Domljan, the Croatian Parliament's vice president including presidential advisor, deputy defense minister, foreign minister aide and other parliamentary representatives is paying a visit (on the invitation of the U.S. Mission with NATO) to NATO Supreme Command for Europe in Brussels, U.S. Mission in NATO in Brussels, British Foreign and Defense Ministries in London and the London-based U.S. Navy Command for Europe.

Do you really believe that such a delegation would be invited to visit this institution if the statement in the article carried any validity at all?
