'Criminal' police fired for offenses

SEMARANG: Four officers of the Central Java Police have been fired for criminal offenses and misconduct, while 15 others, including a captain, were discharged for drugs abuse in 1999.

These were the toughest among 149 offenders within the Central Java Police in 1999, Central Java Police chief Maj. Gen. Nurfaizi told Antara.

Other offenders include 68 deserters, 12 who committed adultery, 18 who embezzled funds and seven who were involved in cases of assaults. There were also cases of theft, counterfeit, tampering with legal papers, abortion, improper use of fire arms and blackmail. (01)
