Crimes at airport
I agree with R. Hutagalung (The Jakarta Post, Jan. 11, 2001, Heaven for thieves, hell for passengers). We have to hope that God will send a suitable person to stop all bad activities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng. I have heard a lot of bad news about Cengkareng airport which should not happen, especially since the airport is considered to be a reflection of our country.
We as helpless citizens/residents are very upset. How can we live without trust in and respect for other people? I have been teaching my daughter to trust and be nice to people. She was traumatized after someone took her gold bracelet at the free exit tax section. Now whenever we alight from our car she asks me to put all her jewelry (now she wears plastic jewelry) into my bag to make sure nobody will steal it.
