Crime is caused by a number of factors. And nowadays the
number of criminals are increasing and their operations have
become more dangerous. This forces us to ask ourselves: Is this
the mark of an unhealthy society?

It is useful for us to know the real causes of the crimes.
Many people believe, as I do also, that the main cause is
violence seen in sadistic and pornographic films on television,
and in movies, videos and laser discs. These films often inspire
the criminals to undertake their actions.

One of the thousand examples is the recent murder which
involved a young man and a student of the Bogor Institute of
Agriculture (IPB), Wida. The student, a woman, was raped before
being murdered. The criminal acknowledged that after seeing a
blue film on video, he determined to put what he had seen into
practice with of the students who live next door to him.

We will find similar cases in our society, so it is important
for the government or whoever is concerned with this case to
think harder to resolve the problem before such films destroy the
people's morals, and crime ruins our society.
