Court told of blood type error
JAKARTA (JP): Experts from the police department admitted to a
court hearing yesterday that erroneous data had been submitted as
evidence.
Herlina, a first lieutenant of police laboratory and forensics
department, confirmed to the East Jakarta district court that the
blood type of Gilang Fauzi, one of five murder victims, is B,
clearing away the team of judges' confusion regarding the listing
of two different blood types in the police report.
Herlina appeared as a witness for the second time in the trial
of Philipus Kia Lejab, the prime suspect in last October's murder
of a family in Bambu Apus subdistrict, East Jakarta. She was
testifying to correct errors in the report attributed to
typographical mistakes.
Prosecutors will present the criminal charges against all five
defendants next Monday. (14)
