Court to promote Constitution
JAKARTA: The Constitutional Court signed memorandums of understanding on Friday with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Ministry of National Education to teach children about the Constitution.
The signing was witnessed by Constitutional Court head Jimly Asshidiqie, Minister of National Education Bambang Soedibyo and the head of the National Legal Development Agency, Abdulgani Abdullah.
Bambang said his ministry would disseminate information about the Constitution, which was amended in 2002, to schools across the country through information technology.
The program will begin with pilot projects at schools in Aceh, Maluku, West Irian Jaya and Papua.
The Constitutional Court has signed about 40 memorandums of understanding with universities across the country to promote an improved understanding of the Constitution. --JP
