Course on language use in billboards
In a bid to familiarize a ruling on the use of proper Indonesian language in billboards and banners, the directorate of Socio-Political Affairs Office of the Jakarta administration will conduct a three-day training for the management of hotels, restaurants, department stores and notaries.
Soesila Darmoadji, a City Hall spokesman, said yesterday that under the 1992 regulation anyone or agency who wants to put up billboards or notice boards in public places should use correct and good Indonesian language.
The regulation also applies to the writing of messages in pamphlets, brochures and banners.
The training will be held between Aug. 24 and Aug. 26 at Hotel Wisata Indonesia, Central Jakarta.
"No fee is collected from participants," said Soesila Darmoadji. (09)
