Course on club management
JAKARTA (JP): The International Association of Golf Course Managers will hold a six-week course on club operations as well as golf and country club management in Kuala Lumpur beginning on Friday.
The organization's secretary, Simon Hanley, said yesterday that the program will be the first ever held in the Asia-Pacific region, where the supply of club managers has never met the demand.
Golf course development continues to boom in the region and the need for experienced club managers is becoming critical, he said.
The program is designed for new university graduates and school leavers interested in a management career, experienced managers looking to enhance their skills, and club owners wanting to improve their knowledge of club operations.
Industry experts will instruct in the fields of club operations, food and beverage management, golf course maintenance, agronomy and accounting. (icn)
