Couple nabbed with two kilos of ganja

BOGOR (JP): A married couple long suspected of being drug dealers were arrested at the their home in Kampung Sinarwangi, Sukajadi village, Ciomas district, Bogor, with two kilograms of dried marijuana in their possession, police said.

Bogor Police deputy chief Maj. Weri Sudjatmiko said on Wednesday that Acih Kurniasih, 20, and her husband Nofreza, 26, admitted to trafficking marijuana to Bogor for the past two years.

"They said that they made tens of millions of rupiah from trafficking drugs," Weri said.

Nofreza reportedly frequented PMI Hospital Bogor and several other hangouts for local youths to sell the drugs.

According to police, the suspects said they received the marijuana from two Aceh residents, identified as Alizar Abdullah, 45, and Marzuki, 35.

Police are continuing their investigation to identify other suspects involved in the case.

Meanwhile in Tangerang, police detectives arrested six suspected drug dealers on Monday in three separate incidents. Police confiscated a total of 68.5 kilograms of dried marijuana from the suspects.

Tangerang Police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto identified the suspects as Syaiful Bahri, 20; Rudi, 24; Fauziyanto, 27; Romi, 23; Ari Sigit, 24; and Legi, 25.

Police also confiscated 300 grams of marijuana seeds, a package of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) and four ecstasy tablets.

Police said Syaiful admitted to receiving the marijuana from a person in Aceh identified as Fransa.

"They transport the stuff by truck," Pudji said, adding that police would continue to investigate the case in the hope of breaking the drug trafficking network. (41/edt)
