Counting completed in 13 regencies in C. Java

SEMARANG, Central Java (JP): At least 13 regencies in the province have completed ballot counting, the local elections committee said on Sunday.

Ari Pradanawati, deputy chairman of the Central Java Elections Committee, said the regencies were the provincial capital of Semarang, Demak, Kendal, Grobogan, Wonosobo, Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Batang, Tegal, Surakarta, Magelang and Salatiga.

As of Sunday, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle was still leading with 5,900,970 votes, followed by the National Awakening Party (2,700,430), the ruling Golkar party (1,900,600), the United Development Party (1,560,980) and the National Awakening Party (990,445).

Officials said more than 18 people voted on Monday.

The province has been allocated 60 seats in the House of Representatives.(har)
