'Counterfeiters' nabbed in Yogya

YOGYAKARTA: Yogyakarta Police arrested three people for
producing and trafficking in counterfeit money, a senior police
officer said on Tuesday.

The three suspects were identified as Walijo, 36, Heri
Pranoto, 56, and Kuswandi, 52. Police confiscated 48 sheets of
counterfeit US$100 bills from the suspects.

Yogyakarta Police deputy chief of detectives, Adj. Comr.
Sujanto, said the first arrest was made on Thursday last week
when Kuswandi attempted to exchange counterfeit dollars at a
money changer.

An employee at the currency exchange recognized that the money
was counterfeit and immediately notified the police, who arrested
the suspect. -- JP
