Councillors raise Rp 100m for Bengkulu

JAKARTA (JP): Members of the City Council forked out their own
money to help victims of the devastating earthquake in Bengkulu.

The total sum of Rp 100 million raised was presented to
Bakhsir, the head of the Bengkulu representative office in
Jakarta, by council chairman Edy Waluyo on Friday.

Each of the 81 ordinary members donated Rp 1 million while the
four members of the council's leadership board jointly raised Rp
19 million. (06)
