Councillor demands hospital for Ciputat

TANGERANG: A member of the Tangerang regency council demanded on Thursday the local administration build a hospital in Ciputat to serve the needs of residents.

"More than one million people living in Ciputat, Pamulang, Serpong, Pondok Aren and Ciasuk districts have long depended on public health centers," Tri Satria Santosa said on Thursday.

"If the administration has no funds to build a hospital, it can cooperate with the private sector on the project. We are sure that many investors would be interested in building the hospital," he said.

A local leader in Ciputat, Chaerudin, said the only health facilities the administration provided for residents were public health centers offering limited services.

"Residents have to make do with the limited services of the health centers," he told The Jakarta Post. -- JP
