Council wants travel budget cut

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Mataram city councillors have told the city administration its travel budget is too generous and have asked that it be cut.

The Rp 1 billion budget should be cut to Rp 500 million (US$53,763), with the other Rp 500 million allocated for public programs, said councillor H. Wildan on Monday.

Councillor H. Wildan said during a discussion on Monday that Rp 1 billion was enough to finance up to 300 trips. He said the council should be limited to 100 trips, with would save the city money. -- Antara
