Council speaker named suspect
JAMBI: Mailuddin Achmad, the former speaker of West Tanjungjabung regental council, has been named a graft suspect.
Jambi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Djoko Turrochman said that Mailuddin, who served the regental council between 1999 and 2004, was named suspect for allegedly embezzling Rp 8 billion (US$888,888) of the regency's 2002 budget. "The police named him a suspect after questioning several witnesses in the case," said Djoko on Tuesday. -- JP
