Council moves on without chairman

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: The Lampung Legislative Council continues to work as usual even though it has been without a leader following the vote of no confidence against its chairwoman Srie Atidah last month, according to deputy chairman Azib Zanim on Wednesday.

Azib told Antara that the council was still waiting for an approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta for the election of Abbas Hadisunyoto as the new chairman.

In the meantime, the council is being led by its three deputies, including Azib.

Srie, who is from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) was removed following a vote of no confidence over her leadership. Abbas is also from the same party. (04)
