Council mad at stalled projects
TANGERANG: Members of the Tangerang regental council revealed on Tuesday that a number of development projects planned this year had yet to start.
Deputy speaker Bayu Moerdani who led surveys to several locations said that such projects should have been completed by Oct. 1 as agreed.
"We will summons related agencies to explain to us why there are so many projects that have passed the deadline for completion."
Bayu said that the administration had spent Rp 495 billion to construct State Elementary School No. 1 in Kronjo district and another Rp 200 million to construct a one-kilometer road in Cilenggang, Serpong, both of which were supposed to be finished by Oct. 1.
"As of Saturday, there were no signs that the construction had started," he added. -- JP
