Council candidate dies of stroke

JAKARTA (JP): Council candidate and former secretary of the city branch of the All-Indonesia Workers Union, Fauzi Ibrahim, died Wednesday following a stroke.

Fauzi, a member of the Golkar faction, served on the Commission E for social welfare.

He had been ill since last year and was treated at the Mitra Keluarga hospital in East Jakarta.

Fauzi, born Oct. 10, 1939 in Semarang, is succeeded by his wife and four children. (anr)
