Cosmetics shipment thieves arrested

JAKARTA: City police officers said they had arrested six
people last week in Pekayon subdistrict, Pasar Rebo, East
Jakarta, for alleged theft of a full-size shipping container
loaded with cosmetics, which was about to be exported.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Tjiptono said the six
suspects, identified as Sarifudin, 38, Ruslan Alvian Elan, 38,
Endi Suhean, 37, Tri Rusmanto, 38, Hendra, 33 and Suherman
Winata, 48, were now in detention at the city police station.

He said that they were still searching for five others
identified as Pendi, Dede, Soleh, Abdul and Ody.

Police managed to arrest the suspects after Kusman Bimantoro,
director of PT Vadil Perdana Kusman Bintoro, which owns the
merchandise, reported to police that they lost a shipment of
cosmetics on May 15.

The company said that they received complaints from importers
in Dubai that they never received goods that had been ordered.
