Corruption and state losses

"The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is in the vanguard of the antigraft campaign, focusing on cases that caused at least Rp 1 billion (US$100,000) in state losses ...."

This perhaps is the core of the problem.

Disappointment with the anticorruption effort stems from this mistake, because the man on the street, you and I, does not see an appreciable decrease in corruption. We still face the same corrupt officials, from the policemen on street patrol to the customs officials at points of entry into Indonesia, demanding payoffs and blackmail money.

For the anticorruption effort to feel effective there should be an appreciable difference in our everyday life ... start going after the "small fries", please.
