Cops nab suspected drug dealers

BEKASI: Officers from the Bekasi Police's antidrug unit arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized from him nine packets of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) in Cibeber hamlet, North Cikarang, Bekasi regency, on Thursday.

Bekasi Police drug unit chief Comr. Rasino said on Friday the arrest on Thursday was made possible by a tip from the public.

Police arrested another suspected drug dealer, Akhmad, at Pasar Baru market on Thursday and seized three packets of marijuana.

Both suspects are being held at the Bekasi Police detention center and will be charged with violating Article 62 of the psychotropics law, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in jail. -- Antara
