Contractor runs off with Rp 73m

BEKASI: A company reported an independent contractor to the
police on Tuesday for allegedly abandoning an electrical
installation project and fleeing with Rp 73 million (US$8,588) of
the project fund.

An employee of PT Sinar Bahana Mulia, Sudarnadi, told the
police that the contractor, identified only as EK, was hired to
install electricity and to upgrade the building's electrical
capacity.

"After several days, however, no representatives of state-
owned electricity company PT PLN had contacted us about the work,
nor was there any word from the contractor," he said.

The case is being investigated by the Bekasi Police. -- Antara
