Contests to mark Habitat Day

JAKARTA (JP): The office of the State Minister of Housing and
Settlement is organizing a writing and a poster drawing contest
on the theme "Creating Safe and Prosperous City Settlements".

Djoko Kirmanto, assistant to the minister, told reporters on
Tuesday that the public are invited to submit their entries,
either for the popular or scientific category, by Feb. 10.

The contests are being held as part of the government's
program marking International Habitat Day, which falls on the
first Monday of October every year.

Newspapers and magazines are also invited to submit articles
for the press category.

Winners will be announced on Feb. 26, 1999. (01)
