Contest for fun teaching activity

JAKARTA: In an attempt to improve the quality of education, the Citibank Peka and Hope Worldwide Indonesia foundation are sponsoring the CitiSuccess Fund by inviting high school teachers in Jakarta, Depok, Bekasi and Tangerang to submit teaching activity proposals that are unique, creative and fun.

There are three activities offered in the annual program: improving English skills, preserving culture and local arts and narrowing the gap between generations, ethnic groups, gender and social status.

Two hundred winners will get Rp 5 million (US$562) each to conduct their proposed activities. The best five will be announced in early February 2005 and each will receive Rp 5 million while the schools will get Rp 10 million.

The deadline is July 9 for submission of entries. Teachers can send their proposals to CitiSuccess Fund PO Box 3856, Jakarta 10038 or online at http://id.hopeww.org/citisuccess. -- JP
