Contemporary Japanese theater
JAKARTA (JP): Senda Akihiko, an arts and contemporary Japanese theater critic, is scheduled to give a presentation on contemporary Japanese theater at Graha Bhakti Budaya's lobby, Taman Ismail Marzuki arts center, Central Jakarta at 2 p.m. today.
His presentation is part of the Japan-Indonesia Friendship Festival being held in Jakarta and Surakarta, Central Java, from Aug. 23 to 25.
In his presentation, Akihiko will talk about both the traditional and modern sides of Japanese theater.
Akihiko, who was born in Tokyo in 1940, has written many books on contemporary Japanese theater, including Theatrical Renaissance (1982) and his latest Japanese Contemporary Theater (1995). Akihiko is currently on the editorial staff in the Asahi Shimbun daily newspaper, and a faculty member of University of Art Musashino, Tokyo.
The presentation, which will include a video presentation, is free of charge. (07)
