Contemporary dances by young men

JAKARTA: Kreativitat Dance Indonesia, led by Farida Oetoyo, will present Repertoar Masa Kini (Contemporary Repertoire) this weekend, featuring the works of three young choreographers, Yudistira Syuman, Jecko Kurniawan Siompo and Chendra Effendy.

The performance will take place at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta (the Jakarta Playhouse) on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

It is the fourth production of the dance group, which was established in 1998.

Yudistira will present Sketsa Maya (Virtual Sketches), a story about love that ends in disappointment, Jecko will perform Kamar Kost (Rented Room) while Chendra will bring to the stage Port of Call, which tells of a longing sense of possession.--JP
