Consumers have right to know

It's good to know that Satelindo's Mentari GSM prepaid card is able to roam to Bali, with Sumatra to follow suit. Finally, the Mentari is not only accessible in the Jakarta-Bogor-Tangerang- Bekasi area. Advertisements on this facility have appeared in several newspapers.

A lot of mobile phone users prefer Mentari because its unit of rate and airtime is cheaper, or used to be cheaper, than similar products. In addition, the duration for Mentari use before refilling is six months, which is longer than other prepaid cards.

But I read in the July 12 Kompas that Satelindo has raised its unit rate to equal or exceed other prepaid cards. If so, it would be wise for Satelindo to announce the change to their customers, with, of course, the qualifying points that Mentari's service rooms to more cities. The company should not advertise its new features and keep silent about the rate increase.

Consumers have the right to know about the pluses and minuses of GSM prepaid cards in deciding on which one to use.
