Complaint

I am writing to your newspaper as there are no other avenues that I can go to in order to lodge a complaint about the customer service at Louis Vuitton, a luxury goods store located in Plaza Indonesia.

I visited the store in early January 1994 and sent my handbag for repair. At the time, the staff informed me that it would be sent to Singapore and that they did not have any idea as to when it might be ready. It has been five months now. I have inquired several times on the status but was told (on my last visit) to check with Singapore myself if I wanted to know the status.

Every time I inquired, they promised to check and call me but till now, I have not received a single phone call. In addition to that, I was told there is no store manager if I wanted to lodge a complaint and that I could only complain to the staff there.

I am fed up with waiting and approaching the store as none of the staff can help me on this. I am convinced that this is not the way other Louis Vuitton stores would treat their customers. I hope the management realizes that in order to compete in the retailing industry, they have to offer good customer service and not just rely on the products itself.
