Compaq, Sisindosat team up

JAKARTA (JP): Computer hardware and software producer PT
Compaq Computer Indonesia has named Indosat subsidiary PT
Sisindosat Lintasbuana its distributor in Indonesia.

Compaq president B.T. Lim said here on Tuesday that Sisindosat
would handle computer hardware and software sales to corporate
buyers.

"Through this partnership, we hope we will benefit from
Sisindosat's extensive network," he said during a press briefing.

Compaq hopes its sales to corporate buyers will make up about
70 percent of its total sales this year, which are expected to
increase by 10 percent from last year. But Lim refused to give
specific figures.

Compaq's software and hardware products for corporate
customers include Compaq Himalaya, AlphaServer, ProLiant and
StorageWorks, while those for individual consumers are iPAQ
Desktop and iPAQ Pocket PC.

"Currently, Compaq is focusing on providing products equipped
with its integrated solutions and services," he said. (03)
